Unless you have a bank account with hundreds of thousands of dollars ready to be used to buy a home you will need to apply for a loan through your bank or a mortgage company.
We put together two lists, The Do’s and Dont’s, of getting your loan approved so you can get the keys to your new home fast and on time! This week we will be sharing The Do’s of getting your loan approved.
DO - Keep all original documents, have access to all pay-stubs, bank-statements, and other important financial documents
DO - Always watch your new credit report. Lenders usually pull this prior to closing
DO - Notify all parties if you plan on receiving gift funds for closing. This is when you get assistance from a family or friend for the down payment or closing cost
DO - Notify all parties immediately of employment changes, recent raises, promotions, transfers, change of pay status, or loss of employment
DO - Make timely payment on all current debt obligations, including any current mortgage, car, student loan, or credit card
DO - Stay employed if employment income is used for loan approval
DO - Notify all parties of change in current address, phone, or email
DO - Have past two year taxes sent to lender as soon as possible
